This has been a week to write about. It started out great! I was on a creative roll... I started this wonderful kit with the Graphic 45 Line "Communique" which will be near and dear to me and my family. This is a picture of my father in law Tony Costa. He is my sons namesake. I have these incredible pictures of him away during the Vietnam war that are pictures of him writing letters and love notes to Aarons mother. The pictures are all like this.. very personal and beautiful. What is even better is that on the back of each pictures are his handwritten notes of love to her. He was a war hero, flying helicopter missions to rescue troops off the ground. He sadly died as a hero and will be remembered in our family for his accomplishments. I am happy to have these as a tribute and to give to my son one day.
I then worked on the August Project Kit, which I can't wait to show you. One of my favorites really.. full of vintage love, and has some of the brand new Prima flowers in them. Then I started work on the Halloween Events coming up in October. Save all three weekends in October 3, 10th and 17th. I'll have something going on each and every weekend, so stay tuned.
As a mom there are certain things you read about and wonder how you would feel during situations... I had one of those the other night. Bianca at about 10pm was complaining of itching all over her body. We spent hours trying to figure out what it could have been. I stayed up with her all night rubbing her body with lotion and hearing her cry and thinking.. if I could swap places with her and take this pain away I would do it in a second. Its a hopeless feeling not to be able to fix something that your child is feeling. FInally after no sleep I got her to bed at 7am after two doses of Benadryl. Just as Tony woke up to hug and play. No sleep for a weary parent. She slept most of the day then woke up wose than ever with a horrible fever and her entire body was bright red. I called Kaiser and they told me to bring her in right away.. diagnosis... Scarlett Fever and Strep Throat.. OMG! I was relieved to have a fix and know that it was not just an allergic reaction which we would never know the cause.. but wow.. I wasn't ready for that! So, she is on two medications.. mom slept 10 hours last night and hopefully today will be a "normal" day for me...
I expect to have both the August Newsletter and Halloween Festivities signups ready by Sunday.. so keep an eye out for that. October 3rd is the first date with both Me teaching and the incredible Iva Wilcox, plus a beautiful catered lunch.. save that date! More guest teachers in October, and an another incredible day with me and Lisa Super on November 7th for a Christmas Festival!
